The Jump-in intervention aims to stimulate primary school students to exercise more and eat healthily, both at school and at home. The program focuses mainly on primary schools with children from families with low socio-economic status and non-Dutch ethnicity. After a successful evaluation of the component stimulating physical activities, research is elaborated with an evaluation of the effect of the project on eating behavior of children. It is tested whether healthy school food policy affects the consumption of water, fruit and vegetables, whole wheat bread and healthy or non-food treats. Additionally, the implementation process will be evaluated in order to optimize the program.
We execute this project together with Academische Werkplaats Jeugd en Gezondheid and Amsterdamse Aanpak Gezond Gewicht van de Gemeente Amsterdam.
